Metal Filler Breathers

The SMBB, SMBT, SMBL and SMBP series filling and venting filters from STAUFF are the robust solution for filling and venting hydraulic tanks. They combine the functions of a tank filler neck and a breather in one component and ensure clean filling and permanent ventilation of the tank - while at the same time protecting against the ingress of dirt. Thanks to the high-quality metal design and the STAUFF zinc/nickel surface, the filters are excellently protected against corrosion and external influences. Chrome-plated and powder-coated versions are also available.

The filters allow the hydraulic tank to be filled and ventilated in a single step. During operation, integrated air filter elements ensure permanent ventilation and prevent the ingress of dirt particles. Pressurisation can be activated as an option:

• When the liquid level rises, deaeration only takes place when the preset pressure is exceeded.

• Ventilation is guaranteed at all times when the liquid level drops.

This pre-tensioning supports the pump's suction process, reduces foaming and cavitation and extends the service life of the fluid as well as the maintenance intervals.

The metal filling and venting filters from STAUFF are characterised by the following properties:
