Buy 24° compression fittings according to DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1

24° compression fittings are among the most frequently used connection systems for metric pipework worldwide and are considered the industry standard for applications in hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical engineering and plant construction. They enable a reliably tight and mechanically highly resilient connection between pipe and fitting - without welding, without additional sealants and with clearly defined assembly control.

STAUFF Connect offers cutting ring fittings made of steel for common tube outside diameters from 4 to 42 mm. The LL, L and S series cover a wide range of nominal pressures up to 800 bar. This makes them suitable for mobile and stationary hydraulic systems as well as for industrial pipework systems with high demands on safety, reliability and efficiency.

Materials and design

The fitting bodies are manufactured from high-quality steel in accordance with DIN specifications and have a conical 24° bore (form W in accordance with DIN 3861), which serves as a metallic sealing surface. The standardised STAUFF zinc/nickel surface (W3) protects against corrosion and often withstands well over 1,200 hours in the salt spray test. The coating is Cr(VI)-free and REACH- and RoHS-compliant - ideal for demanding environments in industry, mobile hydraulics and maritime applications.

The two-edge cutting ring is designed so that its two cutting edges cut into the pipe one after the other. This creates a secure, repeatable force and form fit. When installed, the circumferential material accumulation is clearly visible and serves as a reliable quality control.

Product variants, sizes and compatibility

STAUFF Connect includes all common variants of cutting ring fittings - straight, elbows, T and cross shapes, reducers as well as bulkhead and weld-on variants. The design follows DIN 2353 and ISO 8434-1 throughout, making the components compatible with all manufacturers.

The series are based on the required nominal pressure and the pipe wall thickness:

  • LL (extra-light) - for low to medium pressures
  • L (Light) - for demanding hydraulic applications
  • S (Heavy) - for high mechanical loads and pressures up to 800 bar

The fittings are compatible with seamless precision steel tubes in accordance with DIN 2391/DIN EN 10305 and can be easily replaced or combined in existing systems with tube fittings in accordance with DIN 2353.

Functionality and assembly

When the union nut is tightened, the front cutting edge first cuts into the pipe and creates the primary pipe support. The second cutting edge additionally stabilises the connection and ensures an even distribution of force. The optimised contour minimises friction surfaces, reduces assembly forces and extends the service life of the connection.

STAUFF Connect enables defined, reproducible assembly - both manually and with automated assembly systems. The visible material accumulation serves as an assembly indicator and enables a quick, visual check without the need for additional measuring equipment.

Special product features

The cutting ring fittings combine a robust design, precise manufacturing and flow-optimised internal contours. This design reduces pressure losses, improves energy efficiency in the hydraulic system and ensures a long-lasting, reliable connection.

The components can also be combined with other STAUFF Connect systems such as STAUFF Form EVO, DKO fittings or WDDS solutions - ideal for modular pipework systems in variable system concepts.

Areas of application

24° cutting ring fittings are used wherever metric pipe connections with high pressure resistance and reproducible assembly are required, for example:

  • Mobile hydraulics (construction, forestry and agricultural machinery)
  • Industrial hydraulics and production plants
  • Energy, steel and chemical plants
  • Test benches and test systems
  • General and specialised mechanical engineering
